TGIF Pins

So I know my post schedule has been kind of erratic lately; I promise I am trying to find some level of consistency here! I plan on catching up on ALL of my class reading this weekend so that I can maybe pre-write my posts in the evenings and publish them in the mornings before I leave for class. Bear with me! Aside from the over-abundance of textbook reading this week, it's been a pretty good one. I hope it's been a good one for you all as well! It's started getting a little cooler here in Pittsburgh and pumpkin spice is back at Starbucks! Hello, autumn. ;) With that, here are this week's TGIF Pins:

Have a great weekend everybody!

Blog Post I Love Today

So this morning before class I was going through my blog feed and I came across this gem from Carly at The College Prepster. What does your favorite Starbucks drink say about you? As a daily coffee drinker and someone who has had one or two (or fifty) Starbuck's drinks in my life I was curious to see what my Skinny Vanilla Latte would expose about me. To my surprise it was a very apt description of me; classic but fun. Crazy that you could deduce something like that from the kind of drink you get at Starbucks, right?! See if your order is there and comment with what you thought of the accompanying description. Is it right?

Flawed Perfection

If you have followed my blog for the past year you may have noticed my hinting at the fact that I don't usually wear a lot of jewelry. I wear one, maybe two pieces at most in one outfit. But just because I don't often wear it doesn't mean that I don't LOVE looking at it! One brand that I was recently introduced to is Flawed Perfection Jewelry, founded by Megan Reynolds.

The recently released line, Interchangeable Sparkle, allows women to have versatility with their jewelry. Rather than buying up so many different pieces for so many different outfits (guilty as charged!) this line allows you to change the crystal set with just clasp rings. A great way to get the best bang for your buck, right?

I have to say that I am obsessing over all of the color options of these beautiful Swarovski crystals. Another big positive for this brand is that Megan donates a portion of all sales to the Half the Sky Movement; if you're not familiar it is a movement which helps oppressed women worldwide. So you get the perks of owning some truly beautiful pieces while also helping a great cause.

I am loving the look of the Sand & Stone piece....

....as well as Yacht Club (which has been discontinued and is currently on sale for $25)

You can check out the collection and blog here.

What do you think of Interchangeable Sparkle from Flawed Perfection Jewelry? What piece is your favorite?

Labor Day + College Football

I know it's Labor Day and a holiday so I will keep this post very brief. I figured I would get it out of the way before I leave for our first game of the season (you're going down FSU!!) I would never tell anyone what to think but the Pitt Panthers are the best...this goes without saying. :P

Labor Day marks the beginning of September and I always think of the month of September as the beginning of fall in general--pumpkin spice is already back, folks! Naturally I am very excited to get back into my fall wardrobe since most of what I brought to school is for cooler weather. Here's just a bit of autumnal inspiration!

Happy Thoughts

So yesterday was the day that Pittsburgh decided to show it’s true colors (gray) to get be back into the swing of things. I had forgotten just how erratic the weather here could be. One hour it would rain, then the sun would come out, then it would rain some more, then the skies would open up and unleash some heavy rain. I found myself caught in the rain at one point too (note to self: just start carrying umbrella all the time!)

In order to get up the hill to my dorm and anticipate going out again an hour and a half later for my next class I had to go to my happy place. You know, that place you go to whenever things aren’t going your way and you have to leave reality behind a bit. Where exactly is my happy place, you ask?

What’s up, Aruba? Doesn’t it just look nice, relaxing and sunny? And look…friendly flamingos welcoming you to the beach.

Dorm Decor: Round Two

For the most part, my dorm is done and ready to be lived in. There are still a few things left to get on my shopping list (mental note: buy hole punch!) Despite being smaller than last year's dorm--just a bit--I do appreciate the existence of air conditioning, fridge, microwave and private bathroom. Her are some pictures of the room (at least, my part of the room!)

So, I know that it may look like my walls are a little empty, but I kind of actually like it! What would bother me is if I had too much on the walls. Of course I think it looks empty just because the ceiling is so high (the perks of living on the top floor!) You can also see my little DIY board that worked on one rainy day this summer; I thought it would be nice to hang my jewelry on.

How would you/have you decorated your space for the school year?

My BTS Outfit

First day back to classes = complete! Not a bad way to begin it either; I am very confident that this semester will be a successful one! I’ve signed up for a bunch of clubs, gotten all my course material in order and even started making some new friends (crying, shaking and screaming over a 15 sec. NSYNC reunion at the VMAs can do that!)

Last week I introduced you to some other bloggers who shared with you their back-to-school styles and some other styling tips. So today, I feel it’s only right to share my first day of class outfit (yet another post where I try to be a fashion blogger but kind of fall short…I’ll leave the full time stuff to the experts)

Remember the Wear It Loud promotion I did with rue21? I brought back out that black chiffon and leather vest with a white cami, some skinnies and a pair of black flats which I have to rave about! They are the Ona flats from Mossimo at Target and oh my Lord are they comfortable! I had been eye-ing them for awhile and a friend told me about how she got them for work and they were super comfortable. I recommend them!

Have you put together your back-to-school outfit? What is your style for BTS this year? Did anyone else lose their minds completely watching JT at the VMAs last night?
