Beauty: A Polished Look

Regardless of what it does to my nails--I do give them some periods of breathing time!--I almost always have nail polish on. I cannot say that I am particularly picky with brands just as long as it looks nice, has some staying powers since I spend a lot of time typing, but doesn't put up too much of a fight when I do go to remove it, I will be a dutiful consumer. I am, however, picky with my colors. I tend to go in seasons. I reserve darker colors for fall and winter. You will never see me sporting a gothic black nail polish during the warm spring and summer months. I though that today I would share some of my favorite spring/summer colors with you!

1. Coral: This is currently the color of my toes. It's very fun and has just enough "pop!" for my style.

2. Mint: My color obsession this season! I may just dye my nails this color--kidding of course! But I really do love it. I find it to be a very pretty, crisp color.

3. White: This is one of the beauty trends this spring. I especially like that it makes me look just a bit tanner than I actually am. I call it the magic color.

What colors will you don this season?

Beauty: Favorite Mani

Source: Pinterest

Lately I have been so picky about my nails. I have changed them three times in the past two weeks. But  this new coat that I have now is magical in my eyes. I have never tried mint on before, and I love it! Maybe it is just because of the dawn of spring but I adore how it looks and how refreshing it is.

What is your favorite nail color for spring?

Nail Art

I know, I know. It is the weekend and I usually do not spend my weekends blogging. But I find myself here at 10:44 at night with nothing to do. So I decided to venture into new waters with my nails. Remember my ombre attempt? This time I did something that I absolutely NEVER do just because I do not have the steadiest hand when it comes to applying nail polish.

This time around I worked with designs. Usually I tend toward a solid color, but I have been getting into the school spirit and decided to incorporate my school colors (and just in time for our first home football game next weekend!)

That's right! Look at me being daring. It actually came out a lot better than I had expected. It did take a VERY long time for me to do. So, if like me, you lack the talent of flawlessly and quickly applying nail polish I would set aside a good bit of time to do this. In order to make sure the lines were remotely straight I just used some pieces of tape that I cut as thin as I needed them.

Have fun with this one!

Ombré Effect

Getting slightly tired of doing my nails and getting the same boring result: regular, solid colors. Occasionally, I think nothing of it if the color is different, new and interesting. I have decided to make my nails a little more fun and shake things up. To start out easy I opted for the popular ombré effect. While one would think it easy, I managed to come off less than perfect, haha! Hey, I have to work with the colors that I have. I put my elite pinks to the test and came out with a less than perfect but still remotely favorable result.
