Spring Forward

Image: here

Happy Monday everybody!

As I'm sure you are aware, this past weekend we set our clocks forward and lost an hour of sleep. What followed was probably the longest Sunday I have ever experienced in my life! I was up early to get coffee and breakfast with my mother. It felt like we had been sitting there talking for hours before we left to go to the store. When we came out of the store we saw that it was just past 10 AM!

However, I have big plans for the rest of this spring break! I will enjoying the fact that these next two days are going to see temperatures in the high 50s and possibly low 60s? I've heard rumors. :) I am dedicating a majority of my time this week to some spring cleaning. My room may be small but I can be quite a hoarder throughout the year. It's that time to lighten the load again. Then I have a day set aside to hang out with the few friends of mine that are home now too.

Do you have any plans to enjoy this sneak peak of spring?

It's Official!

Image: here

Okay, so this probably doesn't warrant an entire overly excited blog post but hey! After a annoying period of bouncing around temperatures (thanks for the wardrobe games, Pittsburgh!) it looks like the 50s and 60s are here to stay. I have switched out my closet which is now brimming with sweaters and flannel pajamas are ready at a moment's notice.

On another happy note: my finals week just became a little more bearable with the discovery of a little concert coming to the Peterson Center--a building on campus. I am paying $50 to see Backstreet Boys, The Fray, Five for Fighting, Gavin Degraw, Plain White T's, and Avril Lavigne...kinda solid for $50, right?! It seems that there is happiness beyond midterms! Haha!

What are you excited about in the coming months?

TGIF...

The Cathedral of Learning is probably the most Instagrammed thing by a Pitt student. Beautiful, right?

Oh my goodness, THANK GOD IT'S FRIDAY!!

I cannot describe in words how done I am with this week. Let's hope for an easier one coming up. This morning alone, I had to trek to two campus coffee establishments before I could get my vanilla latte. Hopefully that is the extent of my troubles today. I was very happy to step out in jeans and a sweater today--it's beginning to feel a lot like autumn! I am definitely looking forward to the weekend; another home game tomorrow against New Mexico! Let's see if we can win this one, Panthers! Unfortunately, today's TGIF post will not include the pins part since I have been far to busy to do ANY pinning. I did want to make sure I checked in with you guys before completely setting into my weekend ways. Before I leave you, I would like to draw your attention to probably the best thing that has happened to me this week; Pretty Living PR in Pittsburgh featuring me and my modest blog on their website! Check out the interview here!

Have a great weekend! Any great plans?

Weekend Wrap-Up: Summer Start-Up

Image: here

Happy Monday, folks; and a happy first day of July! July is always my favorite month of the year not only because of my birthday but because July feels like the definitive summer month to me. June is nice but summer doesn't officially start until the end and August is a close runner up but school starts at the end so it's really not a complete summer month. So in my mind, July = summer. Believe me...this sounded even more intellectual when I made this mental assertion in the 5th grade.

Anyway, this weekend was a laidback but eventful one as well; a good way to start the summer. Friday after I got off work I did some self-justified, well-deserved shopping. I certainly didn't get too crazy, but I did manage to find some really nice pieces for the beach. On Saturday the whole beach crew got together this weekend to discuss the finer points of the trip (read: food) and have a little evening cook out. So now that's pretty much all planned; all we need to do now is load ourselves in to the car and GO! GO! GO! On Sunday we went to a picnic that is hosted every year by some friends of ours which was very nice considering the rain that probably should've happened but ended up going clear around us. This kicks off a very short work week for me and of course 4th of July. I plan on this being a very good week. :)

Did you do anything fun this weekend? What fun do you have planned for July?

Summer Lovin'

Photo: here
Here we are...the last official day of spring. Tomorrow summer starts and I've started thinking about all of the fun things I have planned for this summer (aside from working, right?)

July 4th is right around the corner and an outdoor BBQ with fireworks is always fun--but I will probably end up working at some point during the day. My birthday is also coming up in July and I will be turning 19; not that there is anything particularly special about that age. Then we are taking a week long trip to the beach which I couldn't be more excited for. A whole week of being lazy and carefree will be greatly welcomed. Then in August my friend and I are going to see Matchbox Twenty and the Goo Goo Dolls in Hershey! I also have tentative plans with friends to take a day trip to the Jersey shore and have a weekend together before going back to school.

What fun plans do you have for the summer?

Day 2: In 10 Years...

I am the kind of person who thinks about the future constantly. I like to forget the past and ponder the things to come--meanwhile, the present could use some more attention! But the present is not going to get it's deserved attention in this post. Day two's question is this: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

I must admit that much of that kind of thinking has been put aside for thoughts of classes, exams and essays but I love a good daydreaming session, so here it goes!

Exactly 10 years from now, I will be getting ready to turn 29 and will NOT be panicking about being on the edge between my 20s and 30s. I hope that I will be well set on my ideal career path and embracing the ups and downs that are inevitable on that front. I would very much like to be married by that point or at least in a very loving relationship. Maybe kids, maybe not yet...I'm not going to set that deadline in stone. In 10 years I would like to have quite a few adventures and good times to look back on--basically all those trips to Europe that my friends and I have been talking about need to happen! I want to be worldly and have had experiences (but will continue with even more!) In 10 years I see a happy women who is very content with little to no regrets and with much more wisdom.

So now it's your turn...

Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
