Oh Happy Day!
This is where I get to live next year :)
As we know yesterday was Wednesday and by now I am just you know my feelings towards Wednesdays...I don't like it at all! I'm just so busy and feel so rushed on that day. But yesterday was the day that my friend picked housing for next year. Her and I were intending to be roommates and were very concerned because upperclassmen housing is literally the most frustrating thing ever. Doubles seem difficult to come by; most people get suites (3 or more people), singles, or live off campus. But she found a double and we are living together next year! We even get our own bathroom and a nice table and chairs.
I couldn't be happier; I get to live with one of my best friends and we get a pretty sweet living space. I can breathe easier now--until, of course, class registration next week. :|
For those of you in college or beyond, what was the most frustrating or relieving moment?

Little Changes
Hey all!
Just wanted to do a little side announcement today. If you haven't noticed, the blog has and will be changing little by little as the days pass. In just a few months All That Glitters will be coming up on it's first birthday. I am working--slowly but surely--to make improvements here and there where I see fit. I am very much open to suggestions that you think would work for my blog and make it just a little bit more successful.
Currently changes that I have made include small things like font changes, color scheme and more noticeable widgets like the "You May Also Like..." underneath each post and comments using Disqus (so that those who do not have Google/Blogger accounts may also comment if they would like. I am working to make this more accessible for people.
Any feedback?!

Fashion: The Lace Trend
It would appear that lace is coming out in full force for the 2013 spring season. Recall: My coverage of NYFW; lace appeared on many a catwalk that week! Now, if anyone embraces the feminine look that lace offers it's this girl right here! :)
Lace is being seen as small accent in just about every garment you can wear, and is also taking over in full outfits. Here are just a few examples of how we can expect to see it being worn this season:

An entirely lace dress!
Lace skirt
Just the small details
Lace tops
Now, I do remember seeing some entirely lace jumpsuits walk the runway so if you are one to embrace the look go all out! I will probably just gather some looks similar to these.
How will you wear the lace trend?

Time Management
This relaxed weekend is the reason for this post. Picture this: me enjoying a blissful, beautiful weekend. Now, picture this: me up at 1 AM frantically finishing the work that I had put off. Not fun! But unfortunately, this has been the scene for a good part of the semester. My time management skills are horrific. Monday mornings have become incredibly torturous for me and the day is absolutely frantic since I have three classes and, more than likely, have not finished my assignments.
So my question for you is...
How do you manage your time? What motivates you to actually finish the work before the fun?

TGIF Pins
Aaaaaand it's Friday! Great news, right? It was such a busy week back, but it is done and over with. Just two classes today; in Italian was are having a fashion show to help us learn about clothes. That should definitely be interesting. There is not much for me to say so I will get right to the good stuff.

First Day of Spring
To make things better, the sun was even out and it's out again today. This is quite a strange phenomena haha! I just love the general feeling around campus knowing that it is a new season. Soon the weather will get warmer and we will all once again be outside taking walks, studying on the lawn, playing frisbee etc. Studying for finals will be a little less painful studying on a blanket in the sun on the lawn of the plaza.
What is the best thing about spring for you?

The Morning Rush
Somehow I have been successful in reasoning that since my breakfast is usually so small, I really am not going to be at a loss without it. The thing is, I am not the only one here that has been known to skip this ever so important meal! I have 5 1/2 weeks of school left and so I am going to make this promise to myself: Instead of staying in bed in the morning when my alarm goes off, I am going to get up and go through my routine early so that I can make my coffee and get some nourishment from a bowl of cereal or even a piece of fruit!

Have you been known to skip breakfast? What is your quick, go-to breakfast?

Current Obsession: Downton Abbey
I thought that today I would share one of my recent delights that have come about just over the last days of my break. When I was visiting family early in the week, my aunt started talking about how she had been watching Downton Abbey and how good it was that she had caught up with all three seasons in just a few days. A few days later my friend told me about how she had just started watching it.
Fast forward to my packing to come back to school. I decided to endure the long process a little easier and see if I could get into Downton like my aunt and friend seemed to do so easily. One episode and I was hooked. I love period shows (this happens to be Britain circa WWI) and the drama level kept me going from episode to episode. I have just finished season 2 - quite emotional in the end! - and will be starting season 3 this evening.
Do you watch Downton Abbey? Thoughts?

Money Matters
Anyway, over break in between cleaning, dinner out with the girls and sleeping in I had the obligatory money conversation with my parents. Since I have expressed interest in studying abroad, and my federal aid will be going up each year I do need to manage my money a little bit better. It's also a struggle right now since I do not actually have a job while I am in school. I work over winter and summer breaks to make my money for the following semester. What I started doing this semester was looking at my total in my account after my last paycheck went in and divided by the number of weeks in the semester. I figured that I could allow myself a weekly budget of about $40. Thankfully, I do not actually spend that much every week - some weeks I do not even spend $1 - otherwise at the end of the semester I would have absolutely nothing in the bank.
What do you do to watch your spending?

TGIF Pins
Happy Friday!
Unfortunately that means my spring break is sadly coming to a close - but all good things must come to an end, right? While many took this as a week to relax or took a trip, I made this my week to get things done. I will be in school for 5 more weeks, so I gave my room a THOROUGH spring cleaning. Let me tell you, it was not easy. When cleaning under my bed, you learn what it means to fear - dust bunnies become a frightening reality. But no more is being stored anymore under there. I hit my closet hard as well. There is a giant trash bag of clothes, shoes, and jewelry that I am donating to the community thrift store. My room is finally done (aside from everything at school that I will be moving back into it!) and I am completely pleased with it :) Here are my pins this week!
