Summer Sandals

Since the weather has been getting so nice, I have been dreaming about all things summer. Dresses, swimsuits, bright jewelry and of course (if you know me at all) shoes! Not that I need need, can afford, or have any room to store them I have been browsing summer footwear like it is my job. If you know of a place where I can be paid to look at pictures of shoes please drop me a comment!

Here are just a few of my favorite sandals I have found in my internet adventures.

Have you busted out your open toed footwear yet! What are your favorites?

Favorite Fall Trends

Leopard: pumps || scarf || bag
Leather: boots || jacket || watch

Happy Monday everybody!

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend; I know I did! We won our football game this weekend (way to show up this week, Panthers!) and I spent TONS of time with my friends. Granted we were studying...but it was very nice nonetheless. Despite the beautiful fall-ish weather I did get a mighty face sunburn at the game which I hope to God will peel soon.

Anyway, speaking of fall I wanted to discuss my favorite fall trends with you today! I am all about the leather and leopard this season! Usually, I tend toward soft, girly and simple and stay away from a lot of prints, but leopard is really working on stealing my heart. Now, I don't think I will be rocking a leopard bodysuit any time soon, however I definitely would rock this fierce print on an accessory. I desperately want a pair of leopard pumps! Leather is also a little strange for me since I have always seen myself as far from edgy. If you remember from my first day of class post I did manage to work some leather details into my outfit with my vest from rue21. I have been eying leather skirts and I am in need for some new boots :)

What are your thoughts on these fall trends?

Four Favorites: Leather

Clutch || Skirt || Jacket || Bracelet

It's been awhile since I've joined in on the Four Favorites link up so I decided that this week I would get back to it! This time around the theme was leather; my leather jacket is just waiting for the cool air! I don't have too many leather pieces myself, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't readily accept that clutch up there! I love the bow and the color is adorable!

Shoes to Boot

Still adjusting to weather in Pittsburgh; yesterday was a reminder that even though it's not forecasted you should carry an umbrella with you the whole time. The sky seriously opened up and unleashed gallons of water on our unsuspecting university. It has been nice temperature wise (the 70's are not too shabby!) but these next few are supposed to be in the 80s then BAM! back down to the 60s. I don't even know what's going on here...but I like it. My roommate and I are ready to bust out the boots for Friday. I then started my obsessive hunt for fall boots. This is kind of like an apology for skipping posting yesterday...a few shoes to look at!

<3 Ashley

Are you ready to break out the boots? What kind of boots do you like to wear?

Flawed Perfection

If you have followed my blog for the past year you may have noticed my hinting at the fact that I don't usually wear a lot of jewelry. I wear one, maybe two pieces at most in one outfit. But just because I don't often wear it doesn't mean that I don't LOVE looking at it! One brand that I was recently introduced to is Flawed Perfection Jewelry, founded by Megan Reynolds.

The recently released line, Interchangeable Sparkle, allows women to have versatility with their jewelry. Rather than buying up so many different pieces for so many different outfits (guilty as charged!) this line allows you to change the crystal set with just clasp rings. A great way to get the best bang for your buck, right?

I have to say that I am obsessing over all of the color options of these beautiful Swarovski crystals. Another big positive for this brand is that Megan donates a portion of all sales to the Half the Sky Movement; if you're not familiar it is a movement which helps oppressed women worldwide. So you get the perks of owning some truly beautiful pieces while also helping a great cause.

I am loving the look of the Sand & Stone piece....

....as well as Yacht Club (which has been discontinued and is currently on sale for $25)

You can check out the collection and blog here.

What do you think of Interchangeable Sparkle from Flawed Perfection Jewelry? What piece is your favorite?

Labor Day + College Football

I know it's Labor Day and a holiday so I will keep this post very brief. I figured I would get it out of the way before I leave for our first game of the season (you're going down FSU!!) I would never tell anyone what to think but the Pitt Panthers are the best...this goes without saying. :P

Labor Day marks the beginning of September and I always think of the month of September as the beginning of fall in general--pumpkin spice is already back, folks! Naturally I am very excited to get back into my fall wardrobe since most of what I brought to school is for cooler weather. Here's just a bit of autumnal inspiration!

My BTS Outfit

First day back to classes = complete! Not a bad way to begin it either; I am very confident that this semester will be a successful one! I’ve signed up for a bunch of clubs, gotten all my course material in order and even started making some new friends (crying, shaking and screaming over a 15 sec. NSYNC reunion at the VMAs can do that!)

Last week I introduced you to some other bloggers who shared with you their back-to-school styles and some other styling tips. So today, I feel it’s only right to share my first day of class outfit (yet another post where I try to be a fashion blogger but kind of fall short…I’ll leave the full time stuff to the experts)

Remember the Wear It Loud promotion I did with rue21? I brought back out that black chiffon and leather vest with a white cami, some skinnies and a pair of black flats which I have to rave about! They are the Ona flats from Mossimo at Target and oh my Lord are they comfortable! I had been eye-ing them for awhile and a friend told me about how she got them for work and they were super comfortable. I recommend them!

<3 Ashley

Have you put together your back-to-school outfit? What is your style for BTS this year? Did anyone else lose their minds completely watching JT at the VMAs last night?

Guest Post: Transitioning From Summer to Fall

Today is the final day of the back-to-school guest blogger series (tomorrow is move-in day and I doubt I will have time to hit publish on anything!) Today Hannah and Taylor from Fearless Fashion of Tomorrow--how great is that name?!--are sharing their tips for taking your closet from summer to fall.

Summer is the time to chill out and throw on anything that will take the heat and be super comfortable to last those long, warm days.
Transition to fall, when lazy summer days are over!
Cue adorable floral patterns, pants, cardigans, and lastly the very trendy high-low skirt!
Although this skirt (from Forever 21) was a huge staple and trend this summer, you can easily transition it into fall by adding a favorite cardigan, a simple tank or tee, grabbing a cute necklace, and bam! But don't forget the super cute sandals! A super put together outfit that doesn't break the bank.

Circle or skater skirts, whatever you would like to call them, were also a huge trend this summer! Sported here is a denim one (from Target) that is both comfortable and adorable! Bonus. It's also paired with a white crochet lace tank (from Forever 21) which is also a favorite summer item of mine, because it is super versatile! I made this back to school appropriate by adding a long cardigan over the ensemble and throwing on my black converse.

We hope you guys found this post helpful in making your summer wardrobe fall appropriate!
XO,
T&H

Thanks again to Taylor & Hannah for writing today's post! How great are these outfits? I am especially in love with Hannah's hi-lo skirt.

Guest Post: Back to School Style

Today for the back-to-school style series on ATG, I have recruited Patty from PattyGraceKelly to share her back to school style with you! Patty is a student in Germany who is looking forward to university life. She blogs about everything from school, to style and beauty. I definitely recommend giving her blog a look!

Dear readers from All That Glitters

When lovely Ashley asked me if I would like to write a guest post on her blog for the back to school series I did not need time to think about and said "yes."  Not only because I personally enjoy reading her blog but also because I love the Back 2 School time: going shopping for new clothes, school supplies etc. is so much fun. Moreover, I feel like whenever a new year of school or college starts I tend to change my style. Okay, maybe not really changing it but reinforce it!
For me, a new school year is a year with more experiences, confidence and knowledge. Not only when it comes to studying but also with putting outfits together. So I am really glad to be able writing this guest post and sharing my school style experiences with you--at least my wishlist for fashion clothings I would die to buy.

1. Back 2 School: Uniform
Whenever I see Gossip Girl (the first few seasons) or Gilmore Girls I wish my school would be a school with uniforms, too, because I really like the look of it. It is classy, chic and helpful.  I mean, would not it be super relaxing when you are in a hurry and do not have to worry what to wear because you have a uniform? I bet there are more pro arguments for uniforms but this one is a sure one. Moreover, with cute details like jewelry, nail polishes or backpacks you can add the something exra to the look. See my example with the light blue accessories.

2. Back 2 School Outfit: Two Ways
For this outfit or outfits I wanted to show how to rock the navy blue and red color palette. I think that the marine trend is perfect for school and college/university because it is cute, comfy and easy to style.
All in all, I take care to wear outfits to school which are comfortable with the something extra. I often find myself leaving for school with simple Jeans and a sweater on or a T-shirt if it is summer. However, for this school year, which is also my last school year before I go to university, I will try to be even more polished with my outfits!

My last words here will be some thank you notes to Ashley giving me the opportunity writing for her blog and to you reading my few lines. I felt honored writing here.

Patty

I found the first part especially interesting! From 1st-8th grade I wore a school uniform that I would have loved to accessorize a bit more! Great ideas, Patty!

<3 Ashley

Have you had to wear a school uniform? How would you accessorize to make it more YOU? You can also check out yesterday's guest post from The Styletographer on how to style an amazing back-to-school look!

Guest Post >>> Styling Tips: Back to School

This week is the week I move into my dorm out at Pitt. Because I am going to be so busy shopping, gathering and packing I have recruited a few bloggers to share their back-to-school styles with you. Today we are hearing from the girls over at The Styletographer (written by 3 best friends living in Mexico!) on how to style the perfect back-to-school look!

Nobody likes breathing the last breeze of summer, especially when school is just around the corner and our normal routine is about to start; but getting back to normal is fun too, especially because you get a new chance to show off a very cool school style!
Sometimes we get very lazy to dress up for school, we tend to think it is time to pull out our AE pants and hoodies or our polo shirts because we don't want to make any effort to look classy or put together. Today we are going to give you some really simple tips to put up a nice outfit and have everything ready to start your new year!

1. Pick covetable blouses: choose nice and pretty tops with something special, that way is not necessary to wear a lot of accessories!
2. Natural makeup: if your face is very nice and you don't need makeup you are lucky! But if you like to wear makeup, wear it naturally! Remember, a good makeup Is the one you cannot see!
3. Big Back-Pack: personally, I rather use a big fashionable bag, but anything works! Just think of all the things you have to carry and the time you will be carrying it!

4. Comfy shoes: sometimes moving from campus to campus or class to class could take you a lot of time! Is better to always wear shoes which you can move, run and walk around! Tip: if you have a presentation and you need heels, carry some flats so you can exchange them in the inter!

5. Hairdos: there are infinite of do's, easy and simple! So you don't have any excuse to wear the "I just woke up" look anymore!

6. Don't use short clothes! You are going to school, not the beach, remember you have to wear your clothes tight enough to show your figure but loose enough to show your a lady!
Hope you find these tips useful and put them on work!! Xoxo

Once again, thank you to the styletographers for writing today's post! Stay tuned for another blogger tomorrow!!

Summer Concert Style

Top || Bag || Shorts || Sandals || Sunglasses

Tonight is one of those nights that I've been waiting all summer for: Matchbox Twenty/Goo Goo Dolls concert in Hershey! Woot woot! I've been doing my usual prep listening to only their music and trying to get acquainted with the newer music. But also, I have been trying to figure out what to wear to the show tonight! The climate isn't really helping me much either; it's been kind of cool here in August (hottest month my foot!) In fact it was in the mid-50s this morning for my run! This is an outside show too; I am hoping that the early evening isn't going to be as cool as this morning was. I still don't have a definite outfit, but I do have a general idea: light t-shirt/tank top, shorts, sandals, sunglasses and small crossbody bag.

Have a great night everybody! I'm sure I will have many pictures on Instagram.

Wear It Loud w/ rue21 + Contest

The other day I was sent a $50 gift card by rue21 and given the opportunity to go on a shopping spree. The goal of this trip was to pick out an outfit that allowed me to ‘wearing it loud.’ What exactly do I mean by ‘wear it loud?’ I don’t so much mean wearing bright colors and bold prints, but rather wearing YOU. Back to school outfits are always a big deal even if you say it’s not. How many of us have been up the night before with our roommates or friends via Skype comparing what’s in our closets and asking for opinions? Even in college I have found myself going through this routine; before the first day of classes my roommate and I were in our dorm holding outfits up in front of the mirror saying phrases like “Is this too much?” “What shoes go with this?” and “Is this too high school?”

The first day of school outfit is your first impression. You can show everyone your personality with just one outfit. That’s what ‘Wear It Loud’ means. Show off your personality loud and proud! In my turn about the store I came upon this black chiffon vest with leather details and blush skater dress that I thought would look great. I personally tend more towards lighter, pastel colors because they feel very lovely and ladylike to me, but I could not say no when I was in the dressing room and saw the vest over top of the dress; it gave it just a little bit of an edge that I like to think that I have but don’t really show off too often. If you have been following my blog and style posts for awhile you know that I am not one for tons of accessories and I rarely wear jewelry. I believe in making a statement with just a few things paired together. You’ll notice in my pictures here that my only accessories really are my sunglasses and just a few gold bracelets.

So, this is me…wearing it loud. Now it’s your turn; you have an opportunity to enter the Wear It Loud contest hosted by rue21. Just comment below answering the question ‘How do you wear it loud?’ also include your email so I can contact you if you are winner or a runner up. Runners up will receive a $100 rue21 gift card (do some back to school shopping!) and the winner will receive a $250 rue21 shopping spree with yours truly :D Follow the link here and make sure to read up on all of the contest rules and prize details. Can’t wait to read all of your responses!!

Style: My Favorite Summer Pieces

Dress || Skirt

A few weeks ago I took my first shopping trip in awhile--college has inspired a kind of thriftiness in me! Anyway I just wanted to pick out some things to take to the beach. I am very proud of all of my purchases especially my Captain America tee. But there are two pieces that I had been looking at for awhile and debated getting (and of course I did get them!) The one is a maxi dress by Margot + Sebastian and the other is a floral high-low skirt by Joe Benbasset. Both can be purchased at Kohl's. The skirt also comes in solid black and solid white but the floral one is the one that caught my eye. These two will definitely be coming to the beach with me!

Summer Style

So I noticed that recently haven't done a lot of style posts--which I used to be committed to doing at least once a week. Anyway, since I seem to be supremely overdue for one I thought, "What better day than today?" My summer style is really nothing fancy or anything to be completely falling over...but I think I do alright ;) I get pretty simple and wear a lot of basics; it's not like fall/winter where I get creative with layering and scarves and such. While it may be basic, I always like to have an accessory to catch the eye. Currently I am loving my chiffon floral headwrap from Forever 21 (it's $3.80 so get on that!) I like it best with a white or off-white top and dark shorts or, as I am currently wearing it, my coral capris.

You can shop this look and other outfits and pieces in my closet on Stylitics. Check out my profile here or you can access it by clicking on the widget in the sidebar!

My Summer Uniform

1 || 2 || 3

So I feel like we really have jumped right into summer. It gets hotter and hotter everyday! I need to find some appropriate dresses to wear to work because I am dying in my pants! It seems that all I wear this summer is for work and there is hardly time for me to break out my cute summer threads. During this time of year I love to wear dresses (and skirts...but I'm talking dresses here!) I have not really had a chance to go shopping but I have gotten in some browsing time. I have found three styles that I really like and want to try more of this summer: floral maxi dresses, neon dresses and high-low dresses.

What dress styles do you tend to wear more often?

Summer Wish-List

As I have been earning my money over this break I have been restraining myself against making any splurges or unnecessary shopping sprees. Let me tell you, so far so good! However, I'm not one to completely cut myself off...that would just be too painful. So I've decided to continue holding off but compile a wish-list. My birthday is next month so hopefully I will get a bunch of gift cards and money to spend (while putting some away for school; because I'm that responsible!)

Really there are only 3 items on my list so far...but the summer is young! I have been eying both the LC Lauren Conrad Valencia flip flops and the Elle denim jackets at Kohl's. I need new flip flops and would like a denim jacket as well. I am also in love with that vintage style swimsuit that you see above. I'd even go for that color. Unfortunately, I'm not entirely sure where this suit is from but I imagine that I might have some luck looking on ModCloth.

What items are on your wishlist this summer?

I Wear My Sunglasses

1||2||3

One of my favorite accessories that I wear all year round is my sunglasses. It's one of those things that comes in so many colors and styles some of which are flattering while some are not. While they are a stylish accessory, they are also a functional one protected your eyes from the sun's rays. Here are some styles that are making quite a presence for themselves this spring.

1. Mirrored- I do not own a pair of these but I have seen them around and could see myself trying them out. Those are the kind of lenses you can wear and no one will know where you're looking.

2. Round- I could never bring myself to wear these. While John and Yoko may have worn them with confidence, I do not like the look at all. I don't think that they would look quite right on my face.

3. White- The '60s have made their way back. These mod frames are becoming more popular (though I have had mine probably since the 9th grade! Also included in the '60s comeback are Ray Ban Wayfarers.

What kind of sunglasses do you like to wear?

Spring Trends: White Pants

While I absolutely love gawking over fashion trends and street fashion photos, I will have to admit...I am not the most adventurous person when it comes to dressing myself. There's still a lot that I can't really see myself pulling off (floral print pants are a long way from entering into this girl's closet!) But one trend that I really want to pull myself together and try is white pants! Aside from a pair of white yoga pants, this is something that has gone unattempted with me. First step: earn a paycheck to afford new pants! While we are waiting for that to happen, here are a few of my favorite looks!

Spring Trends: Footwear

I can feel myself getting even more anxious for summer as the semester comes to an end and Friday is the last day of classes before finals! By this time next week I will be done with my finals and be working on packing for home. So excited!!

Steve Madden (here) || Restricted (here) || Jessica Simpson (here) || Charlotte Russe (here)

For those of you who have been reading the blog, you have probably seen my spring trends series of posts. I love talking about trends--while I may not always follow them!--and this season I am really excited about many of the trends that we are seeing. I am on a crusade to own mint and coral everything! Today's trend report is all about my favorite subject...shoes!

Some big shoe trends include pastels! Of course mint and coral are very popular colors on all fronts this spring, but other pastels such as purple, blue and yellow are also quite lovely. Cap toe shoes are also still very much relevant--unfortunately mine fell apart since I wore them so much! Mixed textures and color blocking in shoes has also become very popular for spring 2013.

Which shoe trend is your favorite? Will you try any of them?

Spring Trends: Accessories

Clear Tote Forever 21 || Gypsy Earrings Calico Juno || Stevie Necklace Stella & Dot

Yesterday was the first Wednesday that I actually enjoyed. I had one less class--the class is also cancelled today!--and was able to get things done at a more leisurely pace. One thing that I took time to do was scour through a few sites to determine some of the accessory trends for this season. Not that I am going to follow many of them, but it's nice to have your finger on the pulse of what's in right now. I have picked three that I find the most interesting. These include the see-through accessory, fringe accessory, and gypsy styled piece. My favorite it the gypsy style. While I can't enjoy those fun earrings--I don't have my ears pierced--the necklaces are also quite nice. The one I am not so sure about is the clear bags. I just find it a bit odd.

What do you think of these trends? Will you try any of them?
